Patterns of Distinction 2010
The Patterns of Distinction Conference, hosted by the Murray State University Program of Distinction in Telecommunications Systems Management (TSM) is not new to the MSU campus. In 2008, TSM joined forces with Community Financial Services Bank (CFSB) of Benton, Ky., for a Security Matters conference. This year’s Patterns of Distinction Security Matters conference will be held on April 8 in the MSU Curris Center.

Alumni Reunion Weekend
MSU Alumni Weekend each spring will include several alumni gatherings.  The 2010 alumni weekend will host the golden class of 1960.  The classes of 1959 and 1961 are invited to attend as well.

MSU alums Amy Watson and Jerry Walker win Emmys
Two alumni of Murray State University’s department of journalism and mass communications won Emmy awards for their work at WTVF Channel 5 in Nashville, Tenn. Amy Bryan Watson, 1989 broadcast journalism graduate from Murray, and Jerry Walker, a 1995 electronic media graduate from Mayfield, received the awards at the 24th annual Mid-South Emmy awards banquet. Bryan, a co-anchor of the “This Morning” show, won the award along with her morning show colleagues for Best Live Special Event. The event was the “Let Freedom Sing” July 4th Riverfront Celebration. This was Watson’s fourth Emmy nomination.

Carter elected to IEBA board
Jim Carter, Murray State University’s vice president for institutional advancement, was recently elected to the International Entertainment Buyers Association Board of Directors. IEBA is a non-profit trade organization for talent buyers, concert promoters and professionals in the entertainment industry.

Kentucky Educational Television (KET) public programming will feature Murray State University’s 2010 Presidential Lecture Series through March 26.
