I received a phone call from a company asking for my personal information.  They said they were working on a directory for Murray State University.  Is this a legitimate project, or is it a scam?
The company we are working with to produce our new alumni directory is PCI: the data company (also known as Publishing Concepts.)  PCI is a company that creates and publishes alumni directories for educational institutions.  They are located in Dallas, TX, and their customer service number is 1.800.395.4724.

I want to verify my information is correct.  How can I do this?
MSU alumni may call Publishing Concepts toll-free at 1.888.372.2247.  If you have received an email or postcard with a telephone number, you may call to speak with a representative who will walk you through the verification process.  If you have received an email with a personalized URL, you may go to the online site to check your information.  

I ordered a directory/package over the phone and would like to cancel my order.  How do I do this?
Call the PCI customer service help desk at 1.800.395.4724, and they will take care of this for you.

When will I receive my directory?
The total duration of the directory project is about 12 months.  Since we began the project in February 2012, the directories will be distributed in February 2013. 

I ordered a package containing the Companion Airline Voucher, but I have not received the post card requesting verification of my address.
For those who purchase a package containing the Companion Airline Voucher, they will receive a postcard within 2 -3 weeks to go to the PCI website to initiate the voucher process by entering their name and user ID (shown on the postcard).  Alternatively, the buyer can call our client services team toll free at 1.800.395.4724.

After verifying your address you will receive a tri-fold voucher that initiates the receipt of the authorization code to make your travel arrangements.  The concept of the Voucher is:

  1. Book one flight through the voucher issuing travel agency and get a second companion ticket on that flight for free
  2. The Voucher is:
    • Good for up to one year
    • Good for domestic travel within the contiguous 48 states
    • Good on 19 different airlines
    • Black out dates do apply
Someone at PCI called me a few months ago about the alumni directory.  I did not place an order at the time, but I would like to now.  Can I still do that?
If the directory has not yet been printed, you can still reserve a copy at the regular price.  If the directory has already been printed, you can purchase a directory (while supplies last).

Can I choose for some or all of my information to not be printed in the directory?
Absolutely.  You may tell the caller what information you would prefer to have excluded when you call to update/verify your information.  You may also communicate this information to the PCI customer service desk or to the Alumni Association.

Can anyone purchase a directory?
The Murray State University Alumni Directory is available for sale only to Murray State University alumni.

Is there an environmentally-friendly version of the Alumni Directory?
Yes.  Alumni may purchase a CD-ROM of the 2012 MSU Alumni Directory.

How do I know my information will only be used for directory purposes?
We make every effort contractually and through copyright laws to ensure the safety and confident information contained in the directory.

PCI is a trusted partner of the MSU Alumni Association. They have agreed to a written confidentiality clause in our contract which limits the use of the information contained in the directory to functions directly related to the preparation and promotion of the 2012 MSU Alumni Directory. Upon completion of the project, PCI will return to the MSUAA all files that have been supplied by the MSUAA or produced by PCI in connection with the 2012 MSU Alumni Directory. 

 The directory will only be made available to alumni of Murray State University. The information contained in the 2012 directory will be published under the copyright of the Murray State University Alumni Association.
