Notes from the Chair:



    Dr. Reika Ebert moved into a new position of Interim Chair as Dr. Janice Morgan stepped down after eight strong years of chairing and cheering on her colleagues in the department. During Dr. Morgan’s time as chair the department created a more permanent line for Chinese classes with Dr. Jie Wu as an Assistant Professor. She also established a degree in Japanese and this December, Luis Cignoni, will be the first student graduating with a major in Japanese. The other languages Spanish, French and German have been doing well with engaging classes such as French Stylistics, Spanish Poetry, Spanish Short Stories, Spanish for Agriculture, Spanish-Language Film, and 20th Century Berlin.
