Agriculture Campaign for Research and Education of Students

As a part of Murray State's comprehensive campaign Hold Thy Banner High: The Campaign for the Students of Murray State University, ACRES is an initiative to raise $1.5 million to acquire a new 150-250 acre research and laboratory farm and improvements for the School of Agriculture.  Acquiring a new farm laboratory has been a top priority for several years, initially coming from a recommendation by the School of Agriculture Long Range Farm Planning Committee in 2005.  This new farm will allow University faculty and students to expand work in areas of great potential importance to Kentucky's economy.

The success of the ACRES campaign is due to the generosity of several donors including the following major donors:
                • Cindy Hutson
                • Bill Garrett
                • Jackson Purchase ACA
                • Brannon Farms
                • Doug Lawson
                • Ag Alumni Annual Fund
                • Ag Leadership Council

The ACRES Campaign came to a successful conclusion on October 14, 2011 and raised more than $2.1 million. On behalf of the Hutson School of Agriculture we would like to thank everyone involved in the success of the campaign, and most of all, to our donors. The success of ACRES has enhanced the learning opportunities for Murray State agriculture students for generations to come.
