<< BackProfessors From MSU And WKCTC To Conduct Workshop In Taiwan
Dr. Crystal Rae Coel Coleman, director of speech and debate at Murray State University and head of Elizabeth College at Murray State University, will conduct a three-day workshop on leadership and communication principles at the National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan.
Dr. Karen Hill Johnson of the West Kentucky Community and Technical College in Paducah will assist Coleman during the period of July 27-Aug. 5. Johnson is a graduate of Murray State.
The three main topics will be How to Lead and Motivate Teams, Using Presentation Aids Correctly and Understanding the Power of Persuasion.
A member of the Department of Organization Communication faculty since 1995, Coleman is the author of THE Presentation Guide Book: From the Classroom to the Boardroom. Her article, “Campaign 2008: The Legal and Ethical Considerations of Rhetorical Posturing and Media Strategies, was published in the Kentucky Journal of Communication.
She has taught in London (England), Dublin (Ireland), the University of Wisconsin at Platteville and the Community College of Philadelphia.
Coleman is a member of several professional communication and legal organizations. She has been selected to be in Who’s Who in Education and Who’s Who in American Law.
She earned her bachelor’s degree at Hampton University, her master’s at the University of Louisiana-Monroe and her juris doctorate at the Southern University Law Center.
