Online Library Access Available to Alumni In The Military
University Libraries is able to provide access to premium research information to MSU alumni in the military, thanks to the Fred and Graces Jones Library Gift. Alumni can register for this free service to access the latest scholarly full-text information in almost every area of academic study.

Homsey Selected As Coordinator of Service Learning
Dr. Lara Homsey, associate professor of geosciences, has been named coordinator of service learning at Murray State University. Homsey came to Murray State in 2005 with degrees from the University of Pittsburgh (the Ph.D. in anthropology and an M.S. in geology) and Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania (B.A. in history and anthropology).

2013 Distinguished MSU Alumnus Named
Two Murray State University graduates will be recognized with the Distinguished Alumnus Award, given by the MSU Alumni Association. Dr. Charles L. Johnson and Timothy Adams are the 2013 award recipients.
Woods Hall Gang Still Connected
After 32 years, what would it be like to see these eight women who had been dear, close friends in the early 1960’s at Murray State College?  They lived together on the first floor, east wing of Woods Hall at a time when women had to be in the dorms at 9 p.m. on week nights and 11 p.m. on weekends. To say the least, they spent a lot of time together getting to know each other and sharing everything.

MSU's Gene W. Ray Center Dedicated
A dedication of the new basketball practice facility at Murray State University recognized the generosity of Dr. Gene W. Ray, a 1960 graduate, and his wife, Taffin.  The facility will be known as the Gene W. Ray Center.

Glasgow Receives Designation of Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor
Amy Marie Glasgow, Financial Advisor with the local office of Wells Fargo Advisors has completed training for the title of Chartered Retirement Planning Counselorsm.

College of Business AACSB Accreditation Reaffirmed
The Arthur J. Bauernfeind College of Business at Murray State University has maintained its business accreditation by AACSB International — The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

MSU Author Release Second Book in Series
Inkspell Publishing will be releasing the second book in the Lily Drake series by acclaimed local author, T. Michelle Nelson on April 24, 2013.

MSU Recognizes 2013 Distinguished Alumnus
Dr. Charles L. Johnson and Timothy Adams were recently recognized with the 2013 Distinguished Alumnus Award by the MSU Alumni Association. A banquet was held in honor of Johnson and Adams on Friday, April 19, at 6 p.m. in Pogue Library on the Murray State campus.
