<< BackFirst 2010 POINT meeting scheduled in Paducah, Feb. 9
John Truitt, president of Kalleo Technologies, will be the speaker at
the first meeting of the year for POINT (Professional Organization of
Information and Network). The meeting will be at 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Feb.
9 at Paducah’s Red Lobster, according to Loretta Daniel, director of
the Regional Business and Innovation Center (RBIC) at Murray State
University.
The RBIC is one of the three partners that started POINT in February
2009. The others are Murray State’s department of computer science and
information systems and the Center for Telecommunications Systems
Management (TSM). Truitt has
worked in the IT industry for 18 years with companies such as SBC,
Citrix and Wal-Mart. Before starting Kalleo Technologies (a
Paducah-based IT Service), he was director of product management at
Wyse Technology in San Jose, Calif.
The mission of POINT is “to introduce and share knowledge in the
high-tech fields of software development and information technology
while providing environments for professionals to network on a regular
basis.”
Membership is free and admission to the meetings is a business card.
Other scheduled meetings (second Tuesday of the month) for the year are
March, Hopkinsville; May, Madisonville; August, Paducah; September,
Hopkinsville; October, Murray; and November, Madisonville. June and
July meetings are not scheduled due to summer vacations.
The April meeting will coincide with the TSM Patterns of Distinction
Conference at Murray State, coordinated by Dr. Jim Gantt of Center for
Telecommunications Systems Management and Dr. Victor Raj of the MSU
department of computer science and information systems.
