The 18-year-old student from Medina, Ohio, was attending school through a baseball scholarship when a traffic accident claimed his life in October 2010.]]></description>

The Murray State University department of theatre recently received a major gift from alumnus Hal Riddle. Vice President Jim Carter and Associate Vice President Bob Jackson, executors of Riddle&rsquo;s estate, presented Riddle&rsquo;s bequest to David Balthrop, chair of the department of theatre. Riddle, a 1942 graduate from Fulton, Ky., resided in the Motion Picture Retirement Home in Woodland Hills, Calif., where he passed away from an extended illness in 2009 at the age of 91.<br />]]></description>

Murray State celebrated the new David and Ashley Dill Distinguished Professorship of Accounting this November, established by Alumnus David Dill. Dill is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of LifePoint Hosptials based out of Nashville. The reception and dinner at Pogue Library included Dill’s wife, Ashley, children, Evanne and Watson, and parents Mike and Marilyn Dill. MSU President, Dr. Randy Dunn thanked the couple for their commitment to MSU. Chair of Accounting, Dr. Don Chamberlain explained what the professorship meant to the department and announced that the search to fill the professorship position has already begun. <br>]]></description>

On October 27, 2009 at 8pm, Murray State University honored Dr. Charles Johnson '56 and Mrs. Marlene Rann Johnson '57 for their generosity to the MSU Department of Music. The community&nbsp;was invited to the dedication and free concert. ]]></description>
